Maria Eduarda Gouvêa is an economist with a master’s degree in business administration. She currently works at Inter-American Development Bank’s Water and Sanitation Division as financial and institutional specialist (since 2020). Previously, she was a consultant for the International Finance Corporation in the PPP advisory team. She worked for more than a decade structuring public-private partnerships in the water and sanitation sector, with a special focus on financial modeling and project financing. In 2017-2018 she held the position of Secretary of Finance of the municipality of Rio de Janeiro, Brasil. She was also Managing Director of the Brazilian Project Structuring Company (EBP), a partnership between BNDES, Banco do Brasil, Itaú, Santander, Bradesco, Votorantim, Citibank and Haitong with the aim of advising governments to structure infrastructure projects and mobilize private capital.
