Kristoffer Welsien is a Senior Water Supply & Sanitation Specialist based in Washington D.C. After obtaining a Master’s degree in Economics and Econometrics from University of Essex (UK), he has held positions at the UN World Food Program and at the World Bank mainly through an eight-year assignment in East Africa. Kris has been working on rural water supply with a specific focus on solar photovoltaic water pumping since 2009 and is currently leading the World Bank’s efforts on solar water pumping. He is currently implementing such activities in East Africa while raising awareness and supporting global efforts on solar pumping.
