Dr. Farith Diaz is currently an Assistant Professor in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at the Universidad Escuela de Ingeniería de Antioquia. Dr. Diaz received a B.S. in Chemical Engineering from the Universidad de Antioquia, a M.S. in Civil Engineering from the Universidad de los Andes, and a PhD in Environmental and Water Resources Engineering from the University of Texas at Austin. His doctoral dissertation investigated the impact of sulfur reduced groups and other ligands on the removal of mercury from surface water. His research interests are water quality monitoring and drinking and wastewater treatment in small communities. In addition, he has worked at as a professional engineering at General Motors Colombia and he is a co-founder of Clean Water Science Network.
