Ana Silvia Santos is a Civil Engineer from the Federal University of Minas Gerais (2002) – UFMG. She completed her Master’s (2005) and PhD (2010) in Civil Engineering – Environmental Sanitation Technologies and Water Resources at COPPE/UFRJ. She conducted her Post-Doctorate at the University of Minho (Portugal), focusing on advanced studies in Water Reuse. She is the Executive Director and Founder of the Water Reuse Institute, which aims to produce, manage, and share technical-scientific content related to water reuse (https://reusodeagua.org/). She is a Professor in the Department of Sanitary Engineering and Environment at the State University of Rio de Janeiro – DESMA/UERJ and a Researcher/Professor in UERJ’s Post-Graduate programs: Professional Master’s Program in Environmental Engineering – PEAMB and Doctorate Program in Environmental Engineering – DEAMB. She coordinates the research group REUSE – Technologies, Management, and Governance, certified by CNPq, and is a Proscientist at UERJ. She is a Senior Consultant at GO Associados and an independent consultant involved in engineering projects related to environmental sanitation, sewage treatment, wastewater treatment, water pollution control, and water reuse from treated effluents.
